Administrative Assistant


We're on the hunt for a talented Administrative Assistant to join our friendly team based in Dumfries on a full time permanent basis.


This role will involve all administrative tasks involved in a busy insurance brokerage office including being a customer's first point of contact, via switchboard or at reception ensuring a professional and high standard of customer service.

You will undertake administrative and clerical duties to support the smooth running of the business.

No day is ever the same so you could be dealing with basic insurance administration to discussing policies with underwriters.


What does an Insurance Administrative Assistant here do?
This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities.

  • To service existing clients and ensure the smooth administration of their policies.
  • Develop, maintain and cultivate a constructive and professional relationship with clients and insurers at all levels
  • Provide back up to our Credit Control department in liaising with clients for overdue premiums.
  • Be the first point of contact for day to day enquiries from clients, providers and other internal and external sources. When the enquiry falls outside own knowledge, swiftly referring the query to the appropriate person.
  • Independently respond to queries from both clients and insurers in a proactive manner, whilst keeping consultants informed as appropriate
  • Maintain client records and data in line with Towergate systems and protocols
  • Liaise with various account handlers regarding individual client accounts

Who are we looking for to be our next Administration Assistant?


This is an opportunity for an organised individual with a keen eye for detail who can prioritise their own workload and assist the team in managing theirs.

You will have previous customer service/sales experience. An excellent communicator and computer literate, ideally with experience of using both Microsoft Word and Excel.

You will have an inquisitive mind and investigative nature, be confident, use your initiative, problem solve and be a fast learner.
