Renfrewshire Council is seeking to recruit Biodiversity Officer, on a 1-year Fixed Term basis to assist and focus on the delivery of the Restoring Renfrewshire's Rivers Project.


Reporting to Interim Parks Manager (CMRP), within Environment, Housing, and Infrastructure, you will make a major contribution to the delivery of the project (Restoring Renfrewshire's Rivers) to eliminate non-native plant species for Renfrewshire.

You will assist on the ongoing development and delivery of the Council's biodiversity and environmental improvement initiatives.

Statutory compliance, with the Scottish Biodiversity Duty is required.


In addition to these functions, you will play a major role in the Council's Environmental, Sustainability and Net Zero ambitions.


You will be fully conversant with the wider national biodiversity agenda and will assist the development of relationships with key community volunteers and partners.

Working directly with the existing Biodiversity Officer, you will be responsible for assisting in wider Biodiversity agenda including wildflower meadows, tree plantations and other key environmental projects as required


You must have effective IT, leadership, management, project management, Influencing, communication and negotiation skills and the ability to prioritise work and meet tight deadlines.


It is desirable that you have a planning qualification and membership of Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (or working towards this) and be a member of the Association of Local Government Ecologists.

A driving license is essential for this post.
