Part Time Experienced Buyer/ Procurement Advisor / Manufacturing


This role is a new role within ESG, as our business is growing we have identified the need to recruit for an experienced buyer/ procurement person to manage the purchasing within our business, from large machinery and one off purchases to the day to day of the office.


Job Purpose


This is a stand-alone role which will have overall responsibility for purchasing within the company and requires an influential figurehead who is driven and will be able to make immediate savings with their experience and values.

This role will find new suppliers, monitor market rates and negotiate the best deals on our £9m spend per annum.


Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing current and bringing on new suppliers and negotiating agreements for procurement of goods and services.
  • Ordering all supplies for the company and striking the best value deals with suppliers organising product testing and samples
  • Procures raw and auxiliary materials, taking into account the production plan, stock levels, warehouse balance and service level
  • Management and analysis of potential suppliers and their supply chain and their ability to supply ESG.
  • Accounting for and managing risks in the supply chain whilst limiting company exposure
  • Update and professionalise our purchasing systems and procedures.
  • Building relationships with management and other team members at all levels

KEY SKILLS & PERSONAL FACTORS

  • 3+ years purchasing experience in a similar role within (ideally) a manufacturing environment, experience of working autonomously
  • Proven experience of building strong, productive, and effective supplier relationships, using predefined SLAs to manage supplier performance
  • A natural curiosity, with a creative and innovative approach to problem solving, and a passion for continuous improvement
  • Strong administrative, organisational and prioritisation skills
  • CIPS qualification or working towards
  • Experienced in working with multiple supplier accounts simultaneously
  • A proven track record in achieving cost reductions
  • An effective problem solver
  • Ability to work under pressure, to concurrent deadlines, whilst maintaining adherence to process disciplines
  • Able to work at all levels within the business
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Selfstarter with a record of achievement against objectives
  • Flexible, adaptable, enthusiastic
