Description
We are currently recruiting a Structured Cabling Surveyor to survey customer sites as required by our client, Openreach. Surveys will be carried out across the Midlands, therefore the Surveyor should live locally for ease of access.


The output of the Survey will be used to support downstream conversations regarding the delivery of the Customers connectivity goals, the nature of any associated build work and the acquisition of any associated permissions to commence Structured Cabling build activities.

The Surveyor is responsible for carrying out the Survey of an individual Customer Site and carry out the following activities with support of the Planning Team:

  • Contact Customer for access
  • Plan scheduled works in accordance with agreed Survey report
  • Provide a drawing and photos.
  • Perform the Survey in adherence to Site regulations and current Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Where a Job Order dictates, a Survey will be performed in compliance with all JSV requirements.

Responsibilities:


You will:


  • Customer Contact
  • Contact the owner of Customer Site to arrange a suitable time and date for completing the Survey.
full access will be required to all areas that are appropriate to the Survey including but not limited to:

- cable access point to the building
- access to any of the risers between floors
- rooms where the risers will enter and or exit each floor
- corridors that are accessed by electronic means
- confirm a customer contact on the day for any access and or queries

  • Survey and Building Overview
  • Provide a brief description of the building structure, Inclusive of but not limited to the following:
  • number of buildings of which the Customer Site comprises
- number of floors the work is to be carried out
- number of ducts that service the building(s)

  • Review of building asbestos register


  • Duct Entry Point

  • Provide a full description of the duct entry point(s) into the building(s) including any requirements for Customer or utilities or emergency services access for the duct entry points for example, caretaker, maintenance works or emergency services


  • Internal Riser

  • Survey all risers that are required to carry out the installation include but


  • Fibre Distribution Points

  • Provide the location(s) for fibre distribution points (FDP's) are to be located. Photos are required showing where the proposed tray work will be installed and where the FDP is to be attached to the building.
  • Trunking Route and Floor Plan(s)
  • Provide a diagram showing the location on each floor where the cable will come out including (location of the trunking and size, any fire stopping requirements). Essential that a floor plan and trunking route are provided for each floor in scope for the survey.


  • Cable Route

  • Detailed photos of the proposed location of the cabling per floor from where the cable comes out of the riser

Requirements:


You will have:


  • ECS Card
  • SC clearance
  • IOSH managing work safely
  • UKATA
  • First Aid at work
  • IPAF
  • PASMA
  • Roof top + RF awareness
  • CCNI or 5 years of experience in data cabling installations and surveying.


  • Openreach training module

  • NOP's (Network Operators Passport)
