Hours of work:
Monday - Friday / rotational shifts + 20% shift allowance OR

Night shifts Monday to Thursday, Friday + 33% shift allowance


Our client, a UK specialist manufacturing company based in Cirencester, are currently recruiting for Manufacturing CNC Machinists to join them on a permanent basis.

The roles will involve the setting and operating of machines to include Mazak, Doosan & Fanuc within milling and turning and our client can offer the choice of two shift patterns.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Running and operating machinery, no programming experience is required for these positions however you will be set and operate a minimum of 5 CNC process including verification and sign off
  • Inspect items using various measuring tools which include Vernier, calliper, Keyence, CMM and Micrometre.
  • Set and run first line quality checks on parts to be run off the CNC machines
  • Ensure any issues or possible delays to achieving plan adherence levels are communicated at the meetings, or prior to and responsibility is taken for reporting equipment failures
  • Actively involved in contributing & delivering improvement ideas
  • Ensure all measuring equipment is calibrated and maintenance check sheets are completed and accurate.
  • Working as part of a team within the manufacturing department is essential. You will be expected to assist in training, coaching, and support of the manufacturing associates enabling them to meet their job expectations.
  • Aim for a "Right first time" approach, before handing over to a manufacturing associate if required. This will ensure they can complete their roles with the same approach.
  • Support the quality teams in highlighting and reporting quality issues to ensure the root cause and resolutions can be established.
  • Ensure consumables are booked out correctly, to ensure stock levels are accurate and maintained.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring H&S and SOP's are followed on site this includes ensuring correct PPE is worn at all times, waste & recycling is managed correctly, good housekeeping is maintained and challenge individuals who are not demonstrating good health and safety practices.

Experience, attributes & skills sought:


  • Experience in setting and operating CNC Machines, if you have experience within a similar industry this would be advantageous
  • Be confident reading technical and engineering drawings
  • To be accountable, approachable and demonstrate strong collaboration skills.
  • Previous experience of using measuring equipment and / or a strong eye for detail.
  • Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship or have an engineering background
  • Training in appropriate procedures (SOP's, WI's, STM's)
  • Flexibility the ability to work different shift patterns if required
  • A good standard of general secondary education ideally Maths and English GCSE's or equivalent
