The role
Working within the Operations function the role holder will lead the Arrears and Collections team.


With ownership of all processes and procedures within the Arrears and Collections functions, you will lead your team to provide an exceptional customer experience.


You will support the Shared Services and Arrears Manager in making sure we meet our regulatory requirements for all mortgage and current account customers in, or at risk of, financial difficulties.


You will have responsibility for the competence and development of individuals within the team to ensure internal and regulatory standards are met.

You will ensure that criteria and procedures reflect any changes in the economic situation.


You will assist the Shared Services and Arrears Manager to manage relationships with business stakeholders and key business partners to ensure service delivery is maintained, and risk exposure is avoided.


Enhance operational performance of the team by ensuring that fair and consistent outcomes for customers are delivered, in accordance with Policy and in conjunction with the Shared Services and Arrears Manager.

What do we require?
Due to expansion, our client is looking for an Arrears and Collections Team Leader to join their existing team.

We are looking for an individual who has experience in leading Operations teams, ideally within a regulated, financial setting with current knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements.

You'll have experience working within a T&C scheme/quality framework and have the skills to fairly and consistently assess the competence and training requirements of individuals.


  • A solid team leader with the ability to inspire, motivate and develop teams to achieve SLAs and business objectives and to reach their full potential.
  • Able to balance capacity demands and service achievement without compromising standards or quality.
  • Analytically capable with the ability to evaluate and distil information, reaching logical conclusions at pace.
  • Engaging and influencing, working collaboratively with stakeholders and building strong relationships based on a common goal.
  • Strong verbal and written communicator with exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Solutions focussed, organised, decisive with a cooperative approach.
  • Focussed on continuous improvement and constantly looks for ways to increase productivity/profitability or reduce cost/risk.
  • Driven and resilient, projects enthusiasm and energy particularly in challenging times.
  • Promotes and fosters a culture of open, honest and transparent communication with teams and listens/acts on ideas or feedback.
