This newly created role will contribute to the design, deployment and on-going development of an all-encompassing data capability to drive commercial and operational thinking within faced paced marketing function.


Customer understanding & intelligence underpins the majority of programmes and initiatives within the team (customer loyalty, retention, branding etc.) - you will be focused on analysis and providing cutting edge insight to ensure business proposals areaccurate, commercially sound and focused on improving the customer experience.


Whilst the wider business has capable analytics workforce this is the first data hire within the business area, looking for a self starer excited about a ground up opportunity.


Overview of responsibilities:

  • Interrogation of current customer database to gather strategic insights on customer segments
  • Raise profile of Customer Insight team within the retail wider business, using analytical outputs to highlight commercial value, gain as well as business risk
  • Provide front line users analytical insight, engaging with them regarding new business proposals and ongoing projects
  • Be responsible for developing and maintain an effective CRM data platform (Advanced MS Office skills required)
  • Demonstrable experience working with large mass customer data, working with the Head of CRM and to recommend and deliver opportunities to improve acquisition and retention of customers
  • Provide compelling analytical reports to numerous business areas
  • Develop a suite of standard reports to deliver weekly and monthly insight on customer loyalty, footfall, operational profit, brand analysis etc.
  • Support facilities and operational planning team on macro space planning
  • Extract relevant qualitative insight to support quantitative analysis
  • Respond to adhoc data requests as required

Skills:


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in analytical, marketing or business discipline.
  • Commercial experience in a highly data driven role; strong analytical approach with good knowledge of MS Excel (Vlooks, IF statements, conditional formatting etc.)
  • Further experience utilising leading analytical tools, including Power BI, Tableau, SQL, SAS, SPSS, Google Analytics Objects would be advantageous (not essential)
  • Previous experience within retail/finance and/or marketing would also be beneficial
  • Analytical experience covering pricing, customer footfall or loyalty also be useful for success in this role (desirable)
  • A passion for data analysis and problem solving

  • Quality, accuracy and attention to detail are critical
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills, and a good team player

  • Salary £40,000 £47,000
