The Role
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will undertake archival research into diverse performers in early modern theatrical culture.

They will undertake a 2-week visit to a North American archive, and fill gaps in research in The National Archives (London) and London Metropolitan Archives, and in select local UK archives.

They will have responsibility for the analysis and metadata for Engendering the Stage's archive of primary materials.

The Research Fellow is expected to have expertise in early modern drama or a closely related discipline. They must have a PhD or have submitted their thesis for examination by the time the post begins.

Experience in archival research, palaeography and transcription is essential, and experience working with gender, feminist, performance and / or queer studies is highly desirable.

There may be opportunities to engage in Knowledge Exchange/Impact work connected with the project.
