Description

We are seeking to recruit a Ward clerk on a busy 28 bedded acute stroke unit caring patients who are acutely unwell.

You will provide administrative support to the ward team.


The post holder will provide reception and clerical support to George Earle Ward while on duty and to ensure adequate stationary supplies for ward needs.

To assist with and maintain a high standard of record keeping at ward level. To ensure required documentation is sent to GPs and agencies in a timely way.

You will be the first point of call to families, answering calls promptly and with patience and understanding.


You will request, file and return notes, maintain records of VTE and Discharge letters and ensure stationary supplies are maintained.

You will have direct contact with patients and their carers and you will often work under pressure. Your IT expertise may also be required to support team members.

You will be responsible for distributing the patients notes to wherever they are required to be.

You will be a valued team member who is vital to the smooth running of the ward.

George Earle ward is a 28 bed acute stroke unit.

We provide care and assessment for patients in the acute phase of stroke as well as other neurological and medical conditions.

George Earle Ward is a welcoming and busy environment with a well established multidisciplinary team approach. We are committed to providing timely, high quality, patient-centred care.

You will be the first contact with the ward for many relatives so your communication skills will be excellent.
