United Living Energy Limited is a UK gas and energy engineering specialist offering design, build and maintenance on critical national infrastructure for the UK gas asset owners.

United Living Water Limited provide a comprehensive range of water infrastructure services covering all aspects of pipeline networks including investigation, design, planning infrastructure maintenance, mains rehabilitation, new connections, metering and repairs.


Purpose of this role
To comply with the CDM regulations 2015.


Main duties / specific responsibilities

  • To implement the role of Principal Designer and Principal contractor.
  • Prepare construction phase plan for schemes when FPS is appointed as Principal Designer.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety, Environment and Archaeology requirements for every scheme.
  • Coordinate the designs and planning stage between different parties (contractors, planners, customers, etc.) according to the requirement of CDM.
  • Undertake construction phase plan reviews and give CDM advice.
  • Informing and assisting clients in discharging their duties at each stage of the process
  • Liaise with the council and Environment Agency and other regulators when required.
  • Carrying out design risk register and risk reviews for all projects
  • Ensuring safe methods of construction according to CDM regulations 201
  • Preparing health and safety file and completion file at the end of the scheme.

Essential criteria:


  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
  • Health and Safety Management, Construction or Engineering Degree.
  • NEBOSH
  • Ability to work alone and within a team.
  • Great operational planning and time management skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Good skills in using Microsoft office.

Preferable criteria:


  • Good knowledge of the requirements of the water industry and construction processes and procedures.
  • Preferable (GIOSH) level or equivalent in Health and Safety
