Description
We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Assistant to provide financial and administrative support within the Group Finance Department.

The Accounts Receivable Assistant will play an active part in ensuring the system of financial control is maintained to the highest standards.

This role is part time, 21 hours per week. Working days and times can be agreed as part of the interview process.

Accounts Receivable Assistant:


  • Newcastle**
    What you will get up to day to day
  • Processing and allocating receipts received via BACS, cheques and third party payment schemes.
  • Updating payment status on the ERP and CRM systems.
  • Raising invoices and credit notes.

We are looking for someone who

  • Has experience in a finance department with a strong understanding of Sales Ledger.
  • Has an understanding of purchase and nominal ledgers.
  • Has a high level of attention to detail and a logical and methodical approach to tasks.
  • Is able to provide prompt dispute and query resolution whilst maintaining a high standard of customer service.

Some of the key responsibilities

  • Responsible for investigating, correcting and allocating unallocated credits, journals and payments.
  • Responsible for investigating credit balances, Issuing refund forms to customers where required, and verifying returned refund forms.
  • Adhering to and assisting in the maintenance and development of internal financial controls.
  • Playing an active role in the general development of the finance function systems and procedures and to always seek continuous improvement of systems and processes.
