Directorate Overview:

Ardent is the market leader in Land Assembly and Compulsory Purchase operating

throughout the UK. We deliver a concept to completion service for major infrastructure

projects and are the market leader in Development Consent Order (DCO) land advice,

having delivered on over 70 DCO projects and over 20 Transport and Works Act Orders

(TWAOs) across the UK.


Key Accountabilities & Job Overview:

We are looking for an Assistant Land Officer to work in our Compulsory Purchase &
Consents Directorate, who will be part of a team responsible for providing support to gain

the development consent for infrastructure and regeneration schemes for clients. Tasks


will include the following:

  • Engaging with Landowners and Land Agents, listening, and resolving queries.
  • Arranging meetings internally and externally, typing up minutes, seeing actions
through and resolving queries.

  • Responsible for maintaining accurate data in information management systems.
  • Attending Consultation events and representing Ardent and its clients in a
professional manner.

  • Building effective working relationships with clients and other stakeholders, both
internally and externally.

  • Supporting the CP&C team with the negotiation of agreements.
  • Liaison with clients and landowners on land access requirements, dealing with any
concerns or issues.

  • Supporting the CP&C team preparing written information and evidence for
Hearings and Inquiries.

  • Providing an interface between landowners/land agents and the client team,
capturing commitments and landowner requests.

  • Develop both professional and commercial awareness and keeping abreast of
work-related and industry updates.


Knowledge, Experience & Skills Required:


  • Degree educated in an area, which broadly relates to our industry _typically _
Geography, Estate Management, Construction, Planning, Legal or

Environmental.

  • Strong communication skills, orally and in writing.
  • Confident, articulate, a good listener and the ability to communicate assertively
and with empathy if required, with a variety of audiences from clients to

landowners.

  • Accurate record keeping. Good attention to detail.**
  • Ability to work within a team or solo, and to meet deadlines.**
  • Commitment to taking ownership of matters through to resolution.***
    Desirable:
  • An understanding of land assembly processes***
    Essential:
  • Driving licence
