An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to come and join our friendly team at Mid Devon to monitor and manage the Council's planning obligations records.

The role is a fixed term for 18 months.


At Mid Devon, we pride ourselves on maintaining staff welfare and providing support to allow individuals to grow into the organisation and develop strong relationships with other members of the team and stakeholders.

The role will sit within the Development Management team, which consists of a number of planning officers, enforcement officers and administration team, and will consist of the following:

  • Ensuring the collection and expenditure of contributions in accordance with legal agreements
  • Checking for compliance with obligations
  • Maintaining key documents for the purpose of reconciling accounts and publishing financial reports
  • Providing advice and processing requests for the expenditure of S106 funds held by the Council
  • Raising invoices and payments as required
  • Monitoring the progress/status of new developments
  • Liaising with elected members, town & parish councils and colleagues I other council departments to understand local infrastructure priorities and advise on available funding and what it can be spent on
  • Managing the Governance and supporting the Board
  • Working with Town and Parish Councils
The post holder will be required ensure that correct and accurate data is entered into databases and spreadsheets.

You should have a good standard of education, have the ability to use computer software to collate, query, analyse, interpret data, and have good communication skills.

You should be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Knowledge of the planning processes and procedures and Section 106 Planning Agreements is desirable together with accounting experience and or knowledge of legal documents is a bonus

  • Monitor and oversee various projects to ensure they are progressing according to schedule and budget.
  • Conduct data analysis and provide insights to improve project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement strategies for successful project completion.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and other software tools to create and modify project designs.
  • Assist in the build and installation of project components as needed.
  • Prepare reports detailing project progress, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Utilize project management techniques to track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Use Adobe Creative Suite, CAD, Rhinoceros 3D, Sketchup, and other design software to create visual representations of projects.

Requirements:


  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software tools.
  • Strong data analysis skills to identify trends and patterns.
  • Experience in project management, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite for creating visual presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate project documentation.
  • Report writing skills to communicate project progress and recommendations.
