House and Positive Behaviour Support Lead (PBS)


Hours:

36 Hours per week (flexible - according the needs of the service)


Salary Scale:

£22,557.60 per annum, pro rata


Holidays:

28 days per annum inclusive of bank holidays


Responsible to:

Supported Living Registered Manager


Lead Responsibility:


To be responsible for the implementation of Positive Behaviour Support and the day-to-day management of Supported Living tenancy in association with the Registered Manager.


General Responsibilities:


To provide individualised person -centred Positive Behaviour Support to individuals who have a learning disability and multiple disabilities to enable them to maintain a personal and valued lifestyle in accordance with their needs and wishes.

To support, assist and guide people who have a learning disability within their home to live their best life.

Task of the Role.


Organisational

  • To attend review meetings externally, when required.
  • To assist in the induction, training and development of staff.
  • To provide advice to the Strategic Management Team and the Board of Trustees when required.
  • To collate and/or prepare information as directed by the Registered Manager where required.
  • To cooperate and participate in any formal investigation or hearing.

Service Specific

  • To work in partnership with the person supported, their family and other key people in order to provide person centred Positive Behaviour Support.
  • To be the lead point of contact with external professionals regarding the implementation of Positive Behaviour Support.
  • To work with other managers in Service division to provide a point of contact during, and out of, office hours.
  • To ensure that the service conforms with the quality standards and requirements of Independent Options, Care Quality Commission (CQC), purchasers and other funding bodies and to assist the Registered Manager to liaise with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
  • To work within the budget set by the Board of Trustees/Finance Sub-Committee to provide the best value service possible whilst meeting the needs of each service user.

Team Specific

  • To participate in the service rota, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep in duties as required.
  • To lead and support the team.
  • To assist in the development of the services provided
  • To be the main representative of the team as and when required by the Supported Living Registered Manager.
  • To assist the Registered Manager in the implementation of the Business Plan for team.
  • To provide regular support, advice and guidance for the support staff, as appropriate.
  • To provide direct coaching to team, members in the implementation of PBS strategies, which includes modelling, observation and feedback.
  • To provide direct support during incidents of behaviours of concern and participate in conducting postincident debriefs and supporting staff members to reflect on practice.
  • Carry out weekly risk assessment checks, fire drills, Health and Safety checks under the direction of the Registered Manager.
  • Monitor and review house specific documentation under the direction of the Registered Manager.
  • To adhere to the organisation's Finance Procedures.
  • To assist the Registered Manager to ensure that each service user has documented Assessments, Support plans, Individual Risk Assessments and Keyworker information and Positive Behaviour Support plans (PBS).
  • To ensure support focuses on enriching quality of life, which includes participation in meaningful activity, increased community presence, promoting health and wellbeing, relationships, skills building and increased opportunities for independence.
  • To actively plan activities and arrange opportunities, ensuring the team take a positive risktaking approach to supporting people to have new experiences.
  • To ensure that necessary communication aids and visual resources are available, for example, social stories, activity schedules.
  • To assist the Registered Manager to ensure the accurate recording of information related to incidents of behaviours of concern and quality of life indicators.
  • To review incidents of behaviours of concern in order to identify patterns.
  • To be aware of and implement Health and Safety regulations and procedures.
  • To assist the Assistant Network Manager to respond positively and quickly to any complaints or feedback from service users, relatives or other agencies.
  • To chair team meetings as required by the Registered Manager.

Individual Specific

  • To adopt a flexible approach to working arrangements in order to support the team and meet the individual requirements of the service users.
  • To notify the Supported Living Registered Manager of whereabouts where necessary, ensure digital rota is completed and expense claims are submitted.
