This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing and successful construction company based in Central London.The company is looking for someone to assist with the day-to-day financial management of the company.
The role is hybrid (3 days on-site & 2 days working from home), and you will be a part of a small, close-knit team.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Management of Accounts Payable ledger on Xero
- Matching, batching and coding of purchase invoices
- Raising regular sales invoices to our customers
- Credit Control duties as required
- Prepare weekly supplier payment runs and creating payments on the banking system
- Completing the daily bank reconciliation and posting transactions on to the accounting system
- Provide adhoc information for the management team as required
- Reconcile Supplier Statements and other Accounts Documents as required
- Operation of CIS Scheme verifying subcontractors, deduction of CIS and submission of CIS returns
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Reconciliation of all balance sheet items including work in progress, prepayments, credit cards, PAYE, pensions etc.
- Undertaking bookkeeping for other subsidiaries and reconciliation of intercompany accounts.
- Operation of job/project costing system and reporting to management on results
- Preparation of management reports
- Assisting accountants with year end statutory accounts, corporation tax and audit
- General Clerical Office duties and assisting colleagues in the Administration Department as required
WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:
- Prior experience with an accounting system, ideally Xero.
- An accounting qualification or qualified by experience.
- 2 years' experience in accounts for a mediumsized company.
- Advanced MS Office experience, particularly Excel.
- Prior experience in the construction industry is a plus,
especially CIS. - Able to demonstrate numerical ability.
- Proactive with a desire to learn.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Have a good knowledge of the English language, both verbal and written.
- Able to prioritise and organise own workload to tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills: the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, with clients and colleagues.
- Be a team player in order to work well alongside all other members of staff.
- Be of smart & professional appearance.
