As a pivotal member of the team, you will be expected to lead on compliance visits, support local businesses with in-depth specialist advice and to gather and present evidence for investigations in accordance with statutory requirements and internal policies and procedures.
You will have the opportunity to get involved with a wide range of trading standards compliance work including (but not limited to) areas such as explosive and firework licensing, petroleum storage certification, product safety, animal health and welfare and tenant fees requirements.
The Regulatory Enforcement Officer role will focus on animal health and welfare.The team undertakes a key licensing function within the scope of the animal activities legislation as well as carrying out farms inspections across the borough to ensure compliance with animal welfare and feed hygiene standards.
The team also play a vital part in any animal disease outbreaks thus serving to protect the local community.You will be expected to carry out both proactive compliance inspections and respond to complaints, gathering evidence as needed in line with polices and procedures and submitting investigation reports for consideration.
A driving licence is essential, and you may be required to work from a range of work locations or sites across the Borough, with a flexible working approach there are also opportunities to work from home, depending on the needs of the service
