Senior Warehouse Administrator
Plan, manage and coordinate all activities and resources related to the warehouse and distribution functions to meet the requirements of business demand.
What will you do
- People management, proactively develop employees and maintain an organisational structure and philosophy, which empowers the individual.
- Adopt the PMD and HRR process
- Establish and implement communication plans (formal/informal)
- Ensure access to training and development opportunities
- Ensure management of holiday and absence programs including returntowork, counselling, and initial steps in the disciplinary process.
- To handle the recruitment of personnel within the team
- Cultivate collaboration to remove obstacles and break down barriers to advance improvements.
- Mentor direct reports to improve their leadership abilities and overall effectiveness, driving responsibility, and accountability for speed and agility of execution.
- To ensure the creation, communication, and implementation of relevant department goals and metrics consistent with business strategy, incorporating these into colleague performance discussions as necessary.
- Management of the entire warehousing process from raw materials in to finished goods out (raw materials, packaging, broughtin goods, and finished goods)
- To ensure liaison between authorised carriers and Warehouse Supervisor to organise vehicle loading activities.
- Organise the picking / packaging and loading of all UK and Export consignments.
- Ensure the assembling of loads and vehicle loading when priorities decide.
- To ensure documentation is raised effectively relating to despatch requirements and facilitate liaison with the Warehouse Supervisor
- Ensure the Warehouse and Despatch Bay are clean and tidy at all times
- Use the system generated stock management reports together with cycle counting, and support with periodic site stock counts to ensure stock accuracy
- To provide leadership and management for the effective warehouse and transport related ontime delivery activities of all products shipped from the Newport site.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely within the agreed deadlines and effect contingency plans where necessary.
- Supervise activities to ensure they adhere to the company quality management system by promoting and incorporating good manufacturing practices which are implemented consistently across the manufacturing team. Also, to ensure that any procedure or process changes are properly documented and controlled which results in a positive business outcome.
- To work with couriers, irradiation partners, offsite storage partners, and other key warehouse/logisticsrelated partners to ensure effective operations and provide any necessary information and statistics as requested.
- To ensure the effective operation of warehouserelated responsibilities for batch control and shelf life (FIFO) processes including control of the release of goods to irradiation suppliers.
- Management of daytoday departmental budgets and forecasting
- To follow Company regulations regarding Health & Safety and actively promote within the Warehouse Department.
- To carryout additional duties as and when required
- To ensure the control of forklift trucks/pallet trucks maintenance and ensure that the relevant paperwork is raised and maintained
- To provide step up cover within the Supply Chain department as required
What we looking for:
- ILM level 3 or equivalent qualifications
- Distribution Administration Experience
- Previous experience in a people management role in a similar environment
- Excellent analytical skills
- Minimum of 5 GCSE grade A-C
- Excellent computer skills in MS, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience of 5S, lean manufacturing
- Good numeric and written skills
- Ability to work unsupervised and manage own time and work load
- Forklift essential
