AVK UK Limited is part of the AVK Group; who are market leaders in the supply of valves, fittings and flow control equipment to the Water, Waste Water, Oil and Gas industries throughout the world.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Head of SHE to join our leadership team.

You will be the SHE Champion for all AVK UK businesses throughout the UK.

You will develop strategic objectives and action plans to deliver continuing reductions in the Companies' carbon footprint and compliance with all Environment policies and legislation.

As the Head of Safety, Health and Environment, you will support and advise stakeholders to help us achieve our objectives and obligations.

You will create a culture where environment and sustainable best practice are embedded into the day-to-day running of operations. You will bring your expertise and passion, developing new policies and prepare colleagues for new ways of working


DUTIES:


  • Work with the Managing Directors across the three business brands to develop Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategies, objectives and action plans that support the AVK Group Sustainability Agenda
  • Support the implementation of ESG policies and oversee the delivery through operational best practice / BATs
  • Ensure compliance with current UK, European Union and international environmental regulations and legislation
  • Implement and develop environmental management systems that continually reduce the impact of the organisation on the environment, and which achieve targeted thirdparty certifications
  • Audit, monitor and analyse environmental performance, and report information to staff and other interested parties (Customers, suppliers, local authorities, public and certification bodies)
  • Develop schemes for waste management, renewable energy, recycling, pollution reduction and pollution prevention
  • Be the main point of contact on ESG matters for all stakeholders. Liaise with our customers' Environmental Leads to ensure our strategy is aligned with their expectations and requirements
  • Negotiate environmental service agreements and manage associated costs and revenues Support the Procurement teams in engaging with our suppliers on ESG and their carbon reduction plans
  • Carry out impact assessments to identify, assess and reduce environmental risks connected with capital investment proposals
  • Provide the necessary contributions to bids and tenders that relate to ESG matters
  • Participate in environmental education and research
  • Train staff at all levels on environmental issues and responsibilities
  • Promote and raise awareness of the impact of emerging environmental issues and submit quarterly environmental reports (Green Paper)

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:


  • Member of a relevant Professional Body (e.g. IEMA, SRP, IOSH, etc.)
  • Experience in Group / Multisite manufacturing and/or engineering industries
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Gravitas to influence senior operational leaders, stakeholders and persuade colleagues to improve commitment and buyin
  • Ability to identify longterm improvement objectives and develop appropriate strategies and programmes to deliver these
  • Knowledge and experience of novel approaches and solutions to environmental performance improvement
  • Previous project environmental leadership experience
  • Ability to travel independently throughout the UK as required
  • Someone who is hands: on, very people: oriented, innovative, fast: paced, passionate

  • 8 hour shift
