  • An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and skilled, technical specialist to join the Ambient Air Monitoring Team (AAMT).

Working closely with the team's dedicated maintenance personnel, they will act as an experienced point of contact to advise, train and mentor junior team members on the maintenance and deployment of the AAMT's varied assets.

The post holder will be expected to oversee the management and maintenance of the team's various monitoring networks spread over the UK.

This requires a demonstrable track record of maintaining ambient air monitoring instrumentation to a high standard, coupled with the ability to strategically prioritise and balance the teams dynamic and demanding work streams.

Additional responsibilities may include advising upon new monitoring studies for the team's internal customers, including planning and implementing the required logistics and overseeing a study through to summation.

The post holder will likely be required to travel, and regularly spend time away from home over night. A UK driving licence is essential.
Liaising with other partners in the Agency is a regular activity, and attending meetings and training sessions is essential.

  • The post will be managed within the Agency's Ambient Air Monitoring Team (AAMT), and it is expected that the post holder will work closely with the other key team members in their daytoday duties.


  • Experience/skills required

  • Strong technical air quality monitoring instrument maintenance experience is essential for this role.
Delivering and managing air monitoring studies are important aspects of the role.

The ability to work closely with the wider team, whilst managing your time with autonomy are essential skills required for this role.

Strong interpersonal skills will be helpful, as working with a variety of stakeholders is necessary.
