What we're looking for:


  • Experienced in delivering high quality lessons/ learning programmes in a variety of learning environments including classroom based and online.

(Essential):


  • A teaching qualification (at least a Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS).

(Essential):


  • Level 2 qualification in English and Maths as a minimum.

(Essential):


  • Knowledge and experience in delivering either Leadership & Management, business admin, or customer service and associated qualifications and how to transfer knowledge to learners.

(Essential):


  • Experienced in working within the OFSTED Education Inspection framework.

(Essential):


  • Experienced in working within awarding body quality frameworks and being part of an IV process.

(Essential):


  • Strong teaching, learning and assessment skills and the ability to adapt and personalise your teaching approach to provide context and meet the needs of all learners.

(Essential):


  • A lead verifier qualification or equivalent experience.

(Desirable):


  • Experience of delivering tutorial activities and supporting learners through their learning journey by setting and reviewing SMART targets.

If you do, this role is perfect for you Here at Peabody, we have an opportunity for a Skills Trainer & Pastoral tutor (Customer Services, Leadership & Management) on a Permanent basis at our Westminster Bridge Road in South East London.


A bit about the role:

As a Skills Trainer & Pastoral tutor (Customer Services, Leadership & Management), some of the key results for the role include:

  • To work with the Academy Team in achieving its vision and mission and developing and implementing Peabody's Strategic Plan.
  • To prepare and review lesson plans, schemes of learning, and teaching/ learning materials using initial assessments and marked work to take into account the learners' starting points and individual needs.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and exciting lessons and tutorials to inspire and motivate learners in Classroom, online, and workplace environments, depending on the apprentices' line manager requirements.
  • At times, travel to workplace sessions, to deliver planned lessons/ workshops and tutorial sessions to individuals and groups.
  • Improve learners' experience through providing ongoing support as required and carry out duties linked to assisting with the quality of support and learner engagement including conducting learner voice activities.
  • Prepare learners for End Point Assessment and/ or examinations to gain the appropriate qualifications.
  • Continually monitor and review learners' progress and carry out duties relating to the improvement of the learner experience, attendance, retention and achievement, to bring about positive destinations and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in the writing, design, and development of curriculum through planning and standardisation meetings and attend all planning and coordination meetings as required.
  • Coordinate the moderation of assessments and any associated exams.
  • Deliver inhouse tutorial and pastoral support aligned to our Quality Assurance framework, including the setting of SMART targets via individual learning plans (ILPs), monitoring outcomes, and identifying at risk learners in a timely manner.
  • Provide accurate and timely formative and summative assessment and feedback to learners, and maintain assessment records, including tracking and reporting of learner progress in line with the Quality Assurance framework.
  • Complete qualification administration to required standards for awarding bodies and verified by IQA/EQA.
  • Engage with quality management processes to ensure that teaching maintains Outstanding OFSTED standards.
  • Work with the key stakeholders to provide support and guidance on all learner engagement matters and to champion and support diversity, health and wellbeing activities, and support the internal communication of these.
  • Embed and implement all relevant policies including the Learner Code of Conduct/ Behaviour for Learning policy.
