The Manchester Institute of Health and Performance, or MIHPs as its known, is a world-class healthcare facility, combining modern diagnostic technology, sports medicine, performance and education — all on one location.
The Performance Lab Technician will be required to assist with the delivery of high-level sport science support within the performance laboratory service.
As our Performance Lab Technician you will:
Support the efficient running of the Sport, Health and Exercise Science physiology laboratories assisting in the development of new items of specialized equipment or processes for use in research and teaching.
Conduct all Human Performance TestingEfficient and safe delivery of clinical services based on Nuffield Health Wellbeing models and Care Pathways.
Ensure each centre is presented attractively and consumables are replenished daily to a required level for all services offered.
Support the implementation of clinical requirements of the centres day-to-day.
The Person
To succeed as a Performance Physiologist, you will need:
A Degree in Sports Science or a related field.
Preferably an MSc in Sports Physiology or a related field
Strong technical skills operating and maintaining equipment
Experience of conducting lab testing related to exercise physiology and fitness testing for
Experience analysing and reporting a variety of physical performance data
Excellent I.T Skills and analytic skills
The ability to work independently and manage own caseloads of activity
Good communication and relationship building skills
To be able to instil a patient centric culture
To promote a flexible approach when reacting to the needs of professional sports clubs and individual athletes, sometimes during unsociable hours.
