An exciting opportunity has arisen at Whitlenge Gardens for a Till operative and Nursery Assistant to join the Gardens Team and to support the development of the nursery as a business and visitor experience within our show gardens.

We are looking for someone who has a passion for plants. You should also be highly motivated, friendly, and approachable to customers with a positive "can-do" attitude. Be physically fit as some heavy lifting may be required in this role. Previous retail experience and plant knowledge is essential.


Duties will include:

• Till work
• Pricing, displaying, and merchandising stock.
• Plant maintenance and care
• Keeping the nursery tidy and weedfree
• Plant watering and feeding
• Assisting customers with their purchases including giving advice on plants and compost.
• General daily housekeeping and cleaning facilitys
• Dealing with deliveries
• Quality Customer service
• Feeding Rabbits and Cockerels and cleaning area.
• Pruning and cutting

Requirements of the role:

• Accurate till records
• Good plant knowledge
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Excellent customer service skills
• Able to work using own initiative.
• Good time management
• Ability to change roles to suit the companys needs

Hours available Monday to Sunday 8.30 till 5 on a rota to de discussed at interview. Weekend work is essentials.


Job Types:

Part-time hours: 20/40 per week

From £10.50 per hour
