Classroom Support are excited to be working with an incredible SEN School (Pupils aged 4-19) in Southend-on-Sea


Classroom Support are currently searching for a promising Learning Support Assistant on behalf of a wonderful SEN (Special Educational Needs) School in Southend-on-Sea.

This "Outstanding" (Ofsted) school supports pupils with moderate learning difficulties - including multiple and complex needs - such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), speech, language and social communication difficulties.

The school are looking to recruit experienced Learning Support Assistants. These roles are long term positions.

They will begin with a probationary period and if this is passed there are long term contracts available with weekly shift work and potential permanent contract offers further down the line, starting on an agency worker basis.

The school has children ranging from 4-19 years, with classes not usually exceeding more than 12 pupils per class. The age group you will be working with will depend on your previous experience and current school demand.

Your working days will be Monday - Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm.

You will be paid on a daily rate - £75-80 per day on a weekly basis (£ per week).

To start in April 2023.


It is essential that you have previous experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and/or are confident in supporting children with ASD, PMLD or SEMH.

Must have experience of working within a school in the past 2 years.

Must have experience of supporting students with challenging behaviour, ASD, PMLD or SLD and be of a calm but firm nature.

Must have or be willing to pay for an enhanced DBS
  • You will need or be willing to pay £52.20 towards the running of a DBS if you do not already have one and register it on the update service (£13 per year).
  • Advantageous to have previous experience in the care sector.
  • Advantageous to have previous teaching/tutoring/mentoring experience.
  • Any school or Nursery work experience relevant.
  • Behaviour management skills advantageous.
  • Any qualification in Health and Social care or Teaching and Learning in schools also advantageous.

Salary:
£75.00-£80.00 per day
