We are currently recruiting on behalf of our public sector client for Evidence Management Officers in the Merseyside area. This is to provide an evidence management function including inventory control and disposal of evidence and property.


This is a temporary role, initially until end of June 2023 and offers a rate of pay of £11.67 per hour.


Main Duties:


  • Travel to any force location in order to move evidence and property ensuring the current location of each item is updated and accurate within Niche at any time so that a full audit trail of movements is maintained.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of each item during transit so the continuity of evidence is preserved for any subsequent prosecutions.
  • Retrieve, quality assure, risk assess and prepare forensic submissions
  • Receive, retrieve and store evidence/property within the evidence management store, adhering to Health and Safety and warehouse protocols utilizing relevant equipment and machinery to provide an efficient service and a safe working environment.

Requirements:


  • Computer literate in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Must be able to move significant volumes of items
  • Must attend a Manual Handling Course.
  • You will be required to operate a 'mobile elevated work platform' to move and store evidence in the warehouse. Training will be provided.
  • Required to operate a 'mini forklift'. Training will be provided.
  • Broad knowledge of police procedures and working practices.
  • A full UK driving licence is required. For drivers who have passed their driving test prior to 01/01/1997 a Force driving assessment is required to enable them to drive the large van used for collecting property throughout the force. For drivers passing their test after 01/01/1997 a further driving course is required which will need to be passed to carry out the role.
