LT4- Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer

Location:
Hixon, Staffordshire


Salary:
£40,000 to £45,000 per annum


Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.
To perform electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair duties in a heavy industrial environment.

Taking instruction from Site Electrical Engineer and Maintenance Manager, you will be required to undertake planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of plant, machinery and site facilities.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Reactive and PPM work.
  • Basic fault finding and repair of motors, inverters, contactors, sensors, relays etc.
  • Singlephase, threephase and 24 VDC electrical fault find and repair.
  • Distribution boards, panels wiring, repair etc.
  • Assist in new installations.
  • Ensure adherence to/compliance with company policies, rules and regulations relating to safety/health, performance standards, procedures, processes and training requirements.
  • Electrical and mechanical maintenance on hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, crushers, furnaces and more.
  • Changing bearings, housing and motors.
  • Welding and fabricating when required.
  • Predominantly sockets, lighting, armoured cable repair.
  • If required, support the wider maintenance team on tasks within your capability.

Skills and Qualifications:


  • Recognised engineering, mechanical or electrical qualification.
  • Qualified Electrical Installer.
  • Formal electrical engineering qualification such as 17th/18th Edition Cert or Min NVQ Level
  • Demonstrable faultfinding experience.
  • Previous experience in maintaining production equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Timeserved/experienced within a manufacturing (medium to heavy) or process driven environment.
  • Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment.
  • Ability to effectively plan, organise and prioritise projects.
  • Strong team player with proven leadership and motivational abilities.
  • Agile approach to getting things done; flexible and adaptable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Independent judgement and decisionmaking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and guidance.
