The Strategy Team is responsible for delivering a cross-organisational Programme, which is ambitious and responsive.

The Programme will look to embrace new technology in a digital age of healthcare, enabling the Trust to deliver corporate targets and priorities by developing and delivering high quality, sustainable and extremely productive services which work with partner organisations for seamless transitions of care for patients.

The role of strategy programme coordinator will see you supporting with the planning and delivery of our trusts strategic programmes


You will be required to demonstrate autonomy in co-ordinating activities and lead the day to day co-ordination of the full strategy programme.


your role will be instrumental in supporting the delivery of the programme, demonstrating excellent communication skills and strong project management skills, working with the team in production of the strategy programme and prioritising work in line with organisational requirements.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) provides a full range of general acute, outpatient and diagnostic services at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, the Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishop's Stortford, and St Margaret's Hospital in Epping.


We employ 3,500 staff and serve a local population of around 350,000 people living in west Essex and east Hertfordshire, centred on the M11 corridor and the towns of Harlow, Bishop's Stortford and Epping.

Our extended catchment area incorporates a population of up to 500,000 and includes the areas of Hoddesdon, Cheshunt and Broxbourne in Hertfordshire.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Supporting the Strategy Development Programme to coordinate the development of effective, long term strategic clinical and business planning arrangements
  • Understand the overall priorities of the Directorate, interpreting these priorities by planning and managing the diary and facilitating delivery
  • Coordinate a range of planning events, utilising event management and project management skills to ensure activities and deadlines are achieved.
  • Develop a comprehensive reporting schedule which is consistent with programme timetables, meets the strategic direction of the programme and minimises duplication.
  • Provide support to information and communication activities, supporting the ongoing management of relationships with stakeholders
  • Design and implement a comprehensive set of systems to support the effective running of the directorate and all corresponding communications.
  • Set up project files, compile and distribute reports and assist with the compilation of project management reports.
  • Exercise initiative in dealing with issues raised, enquiries and requests from staff of all grades within the Trust, the Local Health Community, NHSE/I and other organisations.
  • To contribute to the management and coordination of the S&D portfolio of and assist in the identification of the local priorities associated with S&D projects.
  • Support recruitment, induction and other personnel related activities that may be required from time to time.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests information requests, as directed by the strategy team.
  • Responsible for contributing to the operational implementation of clinical quality improvements in line with clinical governance standards
  • Contribute and /or lead the implementation of specific tasks as prioritised by the team.

The post holder will be expected to make decisions and judgements to manage conflicting deadlines to ensure that tasks are prioritised in order to meet any deadlines, ensuring a positive patient experience.

Communications & Relationships

  • The Post holder will be required to maintain constructive and collaborative relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders including Divisional teams, other provider organisations, ICS colleagues and external advisors.
  • Operate effectively in a flexible and demanding environment and proactively engage with NHS staff, consultants and contractors working on a variety of topics.
