Description
The role would ideally suit an experienced full-time paralegal keen to work under direction and develop their portfolio of responsibilities within financial services.
The role offers the opportunity for exposure to all legal aspects of financial services,including dispute resolution and litigation; and be involved in the overall legal strategy for the Company as it expands to include multiple products in different jurisdictions.
Job responsibilities
- Work directly with internal and external key stakeholders to structure and negotiate commercial transactions and contracts.
- Draft and negotiate agreements, directly or through management of outside counsel
- Prepare, review, or approve documents from a legal perspective
- Evaluate, advise on, and assist in managing risk
- Prepare, continuously review and improve standard form agreements, legal policies and procedures
- Coordinate with external counsel in various markets in relation to local laws and compliance
- Work with Heads of Department to set internal employment and governance polices to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and ethics standards
- Exposure to aspects of M&A and transaction related issues
Education and requirements
- Experienced paralegal minimum 3 sequential years in the financial services industry
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
- Highly organised
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Maintaining confidentiality
- Strong computer literacy with good working knowledge of MS Office
