We are looking for a
Statistical Methodology Lead who is curious, ambitious, and innovative, to join us in
our Statistical Sciences and Innovation (SSI) team to be based in one our Research and Developent hubs in the UK, Belgium, Germany or US
.



About the role


You will be providing leadership across therapy areas and practices and driving the implementation of innovative statistical methods that will help accelerate the development process.


Who you'll work with


You will report directly into Head of Centre of Excellence for Statistical Sciences and Innovation (CESI) and work closely with other key business units as well as the wider Statistics team.


What you'll do

  • Lead the development, assessment and introduction of new statistical technology and methodology, including statistical modelbased drug development approaches using frequentist and/or Bayesian methodologies.
  • Perform as a highly competent and experienced senior level biostatistician by functioning as a technical resource and internal statistical consultant across therapy areas, and as a coach/mentor to SSI and GED staff.
  • Conduct or supervise, advanced statistical analyses to address complex design problems across therapy areas, for instance, performing complex simulations to determine sample size and power considerations for different study design options.
  • Communicate complex issues in nontechnical language by using visuals, simulations and other illustrative techniques.
  • Effectively lead crossfunctional or multidisciplinary groups and use technical expertise to proactively influence business decisions.
  • Provide statistical sciences training to UCB employees from different disciplines on advanced statistical concepts
  • Explore opportunities to represent UCB by active participation in external professional/technical forums.
  • Review and approve abstracts, posters, presentations, and manuscripts for publication and ensures accuracy of all biostatistical aspects of such documents.

education, experience
and
skills

  • Minimum requirements for a MSc and PhD
  • Strong Experience needed with advances statistical methodology including Bayesian approaches
  • Ability to demonstrate record of methodological publications
  • Excellent communication in English both written and verbal
  • Good knowledge of SAS or R programming
  • Excellent knowledge in visualisation and simulation techniques
  • Sound knowledge of ICH guideline and the understanding of regulatory requirements from main health authorities such as EMA, FDA and PMDA
