The job itself:


The outcome of the council's Total Pay and Reward review means the full-time salary for this position from 1st
April 2024 will be £29,777 to £31,364. The salary will be pro rata for part time and term time vacancies.


A relevant degree level qualification and previous employment experience with families and children in a multi-agency setting and the ability to manage sensitive issues is essential, as is a general understanding of education welfare service roles and responsibilities as set out within the job outline.


The service undertakes the council's statutory duty to ensure all pupils of compulsory school age have access to a suitable and efficient education either at school or otherwise.

This includes enforcing instances of irregular school attendance when necessary.

The service also undertakes the local authorities' statutory duties in relation to children missing education, elective home education, the employment of children and issues licenses for those children who take part in entertainment performances.
