_ Medical Records Administrator_

Location:
The Wellington Hospital


Contract:
Permanent and 37.5 hours per week


Salary - £21,000-£26,000 _dependent on experience and skills_

The impact you will have:


As a
Medical Records Administrator, you will be responsible for providing a responsive, efficient and accurate service for lifecycle management of medical records across The Wellington Hospital.

You will set the standard for the Hospital and ensure that clinical information about patients is handled in compliance with relevant legislation and information governance framework, records are available when needed and HCA is able to service its patients and support physician and nurses in ensuring we deliver excellent patient care.


You will be liaising with consultants, medical secretaries, managers and clinical/non-clinical staff in addition to other hospitals to track and obtain relevant medical records.


Duties include but are not limited to:

  • To scan patient Health Records, ensuring all data and identity checks are performed accordingly
  • Dealing with any medical record/scanning & archiving queries, referring where necessary
  • To process enquiries regarding medical records from patients and their legal representatives, as well as medical, clinical and Hospital employees.
  • To audit files for missing items and incomplete records and file incoming reports/correspondence into patient records, reporting any exceptions appropriately
  • Whilst adhering to National standards, govern HCA's expectation for accurate, contemporaneous record keeping in all formats through control of content, storage, transportation and access.
  • To file incoming reports/correspondence into patient records
  • To provide records or information on request, as appropriate in line with DPA/AHR/GDPR legislation
  • Filing, photocopying, letter writing, dealing with telephone enquiries and sundries as required.

Ideally we are looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience within a medical records department would be highly regarded
  • Previous experience in collating and interpreting data
  • Computer literacy
  • Excellent administrative skills
  • General education
