What you'll do
You'll also:
- Design and develop reusable libraries and APIs for use across the bank
- Design and develop software that is amenable for a greater automation of build, release testing and deployment process on all environments
- Drive the reuse and sharing of platform components and technologies within the software engineering teams
- Write unit and integration tests, in automated test environments to ensure code quality
The skills you'll need
You'll need a strong background in software engineering, software design or database design and architecture, as well as extensive experience of developing software in a SOA or micro-services paradigm.
You should also have development experience in a programminglanguage, experience of using industry recognised frameworks and development tooling, and a background of implementing programming best practice, especially around scalability, availability and performance.
Additionally, you'll have an understanding of the configuration of Azure infrastructure and technologies through automation tooling, designing and building REST APIs, with design patterns and robust development methodologies.
You'll also need:
- Proven experience as a team leader, able to get the most out of others by helping them take on new challenges and responsibilities
- Extensive experience of testdriven development alongside the use of automated test frameworks, mocking and stubbing and unit testing tools
- Experience working in a Continuous Delivery environment, able to deploy on demand (or at least every day/week) through automated build and deployment pipelines
- A thorough understanding of effective Agile practices and demonstrable experience of helping teams to continuously improve their ways of working
- Ability to balance priorities from multiple stakeholders, break work down into incremental deliverables, and effectively manage and communicate delivery estimates alongside risks, issues, and dependencies
