We are recruiting aPlay/Art Therapist for our Five Rivers Residential service in
Orpington, Kent.
Your role will involve delivery of play therapy techniques to children, predominantly primary school age, who are struggling with their mental health and emotional wellbeing.
We are looking for applicants who have a proven track record of delivering play therapy with vulnerable children and who can provide support and advice to managers and support workers to help integrate attachment and trauma-informed play approaches into their practice.
The play therapist will report to the residential clinician or the Senior Principal Psychologist.
The Residential team is enthusiastic and welcoming, and they work hard to embrace psychological thinking and reflective practice approaches in their work with children and young people.
There is scope for evolving and expanding play therapy within the team and we are proud to have a dynamic and creative approach to implementing meaningful change within our service.
Role requirements:
A qualification in Play Therapy or Arts Therapy (We require at least a Level 5 qualification or above).
- Current membership of an appropriate professional body (BACP, BAPT, BAAT, etc.).
- Master's degree from a BAPT accredited course in Play Therapy
- Post graduate and/or MA/MSc in Play Therapy from another provider.
- A minimum of one year's post qualification experience
- Completed a minimum of 100 clinical hours.
- Essential: must have experience relating to working with children and young people who have experienced trauma and neglect
