Logistics Co-ordinator
Job Overview:
To be responsible for all aspects of the transport operations, ensuring the effective and efficient arrival and on-time distribution of products from warehouse to customers across the UK.
To ensure planning and co-ordinating is carried out in the most time and cost efficient way in liaison with relevant departments including sales, customers, warehouse, hauliers etc.
Logistic Co-ordinator Accountabilities:
- To ensure that all operations within the transport function are effectively completed to achieve maximum vehicle utilisation, cost effectiveness and that the company service targets are achieved.
- To facilitate the receiving, storing and delivery of materials, effectively managing the timely flow of order processing.
- Processing of original documents, customs formalities together with all related administration and compliance with procedures and regulations.
- Organising on time delivery to customers along with associated administration and compliance and regulations
- To liaise closely with the Warehouse, Sales, Customer Service and Procurement resources maintaining and developing good inter department relations and communications.
- To ensure that all loads planned have been recorded and dispatch notified at the earliest opportunity to the Warehouse. To ensure all transport documents issued are correct.
- To identify opportunities for cost saving and assist with developing effective solutions to realise them.
Logistic Co-ordinator Skills and experience required:
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Relevant experience in a logistics planning role
- Selfmotivated with excellent interpersonal skills
- Highly organised with a high level of work accuracy required
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent numeracy skills with IT experience
- Deadline orientated
- Able to make decisions in a pressured/busy environment
Job Types:
