Role
Reporting to technical director you will be a degree qualified engineer with over 2 years experience in a relevant design engineering field.
Using CAD to detail designs you will work at pace to ensure that designs are issued on time to enable target delivery dates to be met
Your work will be to a high standard with a high degree of accuracy employing a right first-time mentality
Responsibilities
- Deliver designs on time and to budget
- Support Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
- Lead smaller projects from concept to completion
- On site support at our Hull site
- Develop designs to meet customer specifications
- Develop designs to meet all relevant legislation / standards required either by law or customer specification
- Develop designs to meet our budget
- Develop designs to meet weight budget
- Develop designs where possible that can be produced internally
- Specify products that are available, within budget & meet specification ie environmental specs
- Produce CAD models and engineering drawings to correct engineering standards
- Production engineering
- Produce designs which can be economically manufactured
- Provide technical information and supporting evidence of a design's suitability for purpose
- Complete design reviews internally and with customers
- Provide production support
- Create technical files
- Write technical reports
- Create test plans
- Support user trial
- Create task lists
- Ensuring that finished design is legal and compliant for use in designated area ie UK, Europe, Africa, etc
- Any other work as requested by management that they deemed suitable
Skills & Experience
- Ability to work alone or a part of a larger team
- CAD (SolidWorks) user
- Experience in vehicle design
- Experience in vehicle systems design
- Ability to work under pressure and achieve deadlines
- CAD Drawing package 2 years (Solid Works preferable)
Mechanical Design: 2 years
Personal Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the confidence to approach management,
- Ability to lead customer meeting, providing presentations etc as required
