General:
The Workshop Driver/Fitter will be required to assist the HGV mechanics in their duties by performing
maintenance related driving duties, perform light maintenance tasks, and maintain the cleanliness of the
workshop and company vehicles.
Main Duties:
Presenting vehicles for MOT and ADR voluntary and formal tests
Shunting in the yard
Collect and deliver vehicles from various locations
Assisting with inspections and trucks and trailers
Perform maintenance tasks on vehicles, plant, and company property, in line with skill level, across
the South West region.
Wash vehicles in preparation for MOT / servicing using a high-pressure water jet washer
Carrying out ADR spot checks on drivers
Maintain workshop tools and equipment in clean condition
Maintain and tidy workshop, yard and wash bay areas
Occasional relief driver for other departments
General H&S Responsibilities:
Comply with Health & Safety requirements: as per training, policies, procedures, risk assessments,
method statements, safe systems of work etc.
Actively seek to improve safety culture.
Report any H&S issues/accidents/near misses to your line manager immediately.
Other General Responsibilities:
Maintain the physical security of FIS equipment in your possession along with any goods transported
in accordance with Company Security policies.
Maintain the security and confidentiality of Company information and data in accordance with
Company IT Security and Data Protection policies.
Attend training as required to maintain personal qualification/competence.
Comply with the Company Equal Opportunities Policy and promote equality.*
