Role Purpose


This role will involve regular interaction directly with the Senior Management Team thus requires a strong communicator & influencer with strong analytical skills.

A strong performer may find other opportunities within the team after the initial 12 monthsfixed term contract.


Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
IFRS 3 business combinations support

  • Support the Group Accountant with the implementation of IFRS 3 asset valuations at a Group level
  • Analyse the impact of 'push down' accounting of IFRS 3 asset valuations on individual subsidiary accounts
Consolidated accounts preparation & audit support

  • Preparation of the first set of consolidated accounts for the new group, including drafting of complex debt and business combination notes to an auditable standard
  • Support in the audit of the Group accounts disclosures
  • Ownership of the asset impairment model for FY22 year end, working closely with the CFO and Head of Commercial Finance to align the model to the most recent GC forecasts and group budget
Ad hoc project work

  • Provide financial analysis to support business decision making
  • Work autonomously to research impact of scenarios on IFRS 3 financial reporting and cash
  • Assist on system and process development projects
  • Perform other reasonable ad hoc duties as assigned by their line manager from time to time.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential:


  • Member of a professional accounting body (ACA preferred) with knowledge of IFRS
  • 23 years industry experience is preferred
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise own deliverables under time pressure
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Prior experience of IFRS 3 business combinations accounting
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, ability to articulate complex accounting to nonfinance colleagues
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
