Reed are working with an international leading insurance brokerage, risk management, and HR consultant company in their search for an Account Executive Associate for their Motor Trade new business team.


The role is a unique opportunity to develop and secure Motor Trade knowledge within a specialist department and has potential for strong career growth.


The role is desk-based dealing with prospects over the phone, agile working between home and office will be possible when fully trained.


Your Role:


  • Working with new business prospects to identify insurance needs, providing a full end to end sales service while capturing demands and needs and making the most of cross sell opportunities.
  • Negotiating with insurers to obtain terms for clients that accurately and effectively match customer requirements
  • Manage own workload in order to effectively service the client relationship and ensure placements are completed within client deadlines
  • Ensure client information and sales plans are kept up to date
  • Learn how to establish and manage a sales pipeline of potential clients
  • Deal with internal and external queries from colleagues or underwriters
  • Ensure that premiums are paid in accordance with placement requirements
  • Carry out duties following internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and good governance.

Desirable Skills:


  • Basic knowledge of general insurance (London Market / Lloyd's and Industry) products, services, classes of insurance including underlying legal principles and practices relating to risk within own role capacity
  • Motor Trade Knowledge desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrated rapportbuilding experience with colleagues/clients/Insurers
  • Worked to deadlines and able to anticipate change
  • Able to identify potential risks/issues and seek advice/consultation when required
  • Proactive in customercare
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Takes initiative when assisting team members
  • MS office proficiency
  • Awareness of the regulatory requirements in respect of 'advised' and 'nonadvised' sales, and in particular evidencing the standards and knowledge required in respect of giving advice and making recommendations to customers
