Early Years Practitioner Job Description.
The main purpose of the position is to
- Work within our Early Years Team, supporting the planning implementation of activities with individual or groups of children; promoting effective learning and improve outcomes. Use information to update talking and thinking books.
- Post two posts with activities everyday on Famly.
- Offer children a safe, secure, caring and supportive environment, providing opportunities to foster their growth and development within the nursery.
- Promote the inclusion of all children
- Take on role of keyworker for all allocated children.
- Record observation on Learning Journals and use towards children's Next steps.
- Input into both the nursery development plan and self evaluation books
- Observe all nursery policies and procedures and follow emergency plans and adhere to them at all times.
- Attend regular staff and planning meetings.
- Assist in the setting up of the nursery each day.
- Plan and assist with activities, set out equipment, clear up each day and wash and put them away in sheds.
- Greet children and parents and assist with hanging up coats and putting away shoes.
- Assist children where required with toileting training and changing nappies.
- Liase with other professionals e.g. Health Visitor, Speech and language therapist, visiting teacher.
- Observe health and safety regulations when out walking with the children on pavements. Fill in the risk assessment with children before leaving nursery.
- Tidy nursery with the children morning before snack, lunch and when going home.
- Oversea or help with snack and lunch and help children when needed staff members to sit down with children each time.
- Clean area and empty bins.
- Clean toys daily and resources regularly.
- Assist children when cleaning teeth.
- Share tasks and wor load equally with other staff members
- At the end of the day assist with general cleaning of the nursery.
- Undertake any reasonable task/requirement allocated by senior staff or management.
- Write reports for children each year.
- Attend contact time with parents.

- Register with SSSC and keep annual subscriptions up to date each year.
- Undertake qualifications and staff training as required.
- Keep up to date with legislation.
Job Type:
Part-time
Part-time hours: 28 per week
Salary:
From £11.00 per hour
