Pastoral Manager - 'Outstanding' Secondary School - Tower Hamlets


An 'Outstanding' school in the heart of the diverse London borough of Tower Hamlets are looking for a Pastoral Manager to start in January 2023.

This is a permanent contract directly employed through the school the salary for this post is £27,000 per annum.


Ideally, the school are looking for an intelligent, compassionate and ambitious graduate who wants to make a genuine difference to pupils lives on a daily basis.

What will you do as a Pastoral Manager?

Pastoral Support:


  • To encourage pupils' engagement with the education process by supporting behaviour for learning
  • To follow up concerns about behaviour of the pupils in the Year Group
  • To attend meetings and contribute to the work of the Pastoral Support Team
  • To assist Head of Year at tutor team meetings

Attendance and Welfare:


  • Close liaison with the academy's attendance officer, as well as working with the wider pastoral team
  • To conduct welfare check visits, as required
  • To maintain accurate records of all actions taken in relation to improving students' attendance

Behaviour:


  • Maintain and improve behaviour management standards of some children, some of whom can be challenging and display challenging behaviour
  • To ensure all pupils in the Year Group know and understand the standards of behaviour expected from them

Parent Liaison:


  • Engaging with parents and students through telephone discussions and home visits, although formal meetings may also be required on occasion

PERSON SPECIFICATION:


  • A recent graduate from a reputable university
    Ideal
  • Right to work in the UK
    Essential
  • A person who understands the importance and is motivated to secure the best possible outcomes for all students
  • Someone who is emotionally mature and resilient
  • Any graduate with aspirations to work in a pastoral team within an education setting have the ability to genuinely change pupils lives for the better
  • Prior experience in schools supporting students pastoral needs is ideal, but not essential

  • Monday
  • Friday 8am 5pm, no weekends
