Your responsibilities

We are currently seeking a Plate Saw Operator to join us at thyssenkrupp Materials UK! As the Plate Saw Operator, your main task will be cutting various products for different customers based on design drawings while maintaining tight tolerances.

Our Preston site specializes in Aerospace products and CNC machining, boasting the most impressive warehouse among all our sites. Precision and traceability are crucial for aerospace products, so your organizational skills and attention to detail are key. There are multiple opportunities within the warehouse for growth and learning, equipped with new resources like machines and forklifts. Additionally, the canteen recently underwent a £30k renovation!

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Operating the Plate Saw following high-quality and safety standards
  • Ensuring warehouse traceability
  • Setting up machines accurately and producing parts as per order requirements
  • Utilizing forklifts to collect materials and documenting all job-related information

Your profile

Essential qualifications, skills, and knowledge:

  • Experience in operating saws
  • Ability to interpret drawings and maintain precise records
  • Flexibility to assist with various tasks
  • Effective communication and time management abilities

Desirable qualifications, skills, and knowledge:

  • Training opportunities available for suitable candidates
  • Ideally certified in operating a Counterbalance forklift, preferably 4-way

  • 40-hour week Shift Pattern: Mon-Fri Week 1: 6am-2pm, Week 2: 2pm-10pm
