Description

Based in the Anthony group, you will be a member of a research group with responsibility for the provision of research support for a project funded by the Medical and Life Sciences Translational Fund.

You will also provide advice and guidance to research students where appropriate.

You will liaise with clinicians to obtain biofluid samples from patients at the relevant oncology clinics and prepare these samples for NMR analysis.

There will also be opportunities to train in computational statistical analysis.

It is anticipated that this work will identify new biomarkers and potential therapeutic targets in lung cancer and melanoma with direct clinical relevance.

These projects are multi-disciplinary and collaborative; consequently, you will liaise closely with clinicians and statisticians. In addition, you will contribute to day-to-day running of the laboratory.

You must have a background in biology, with a proactive and enthusiastic approach to your work. Expertise with processing and handling biological samples is essential. Experience with metabolomics, NMR or clinical samples would be an advantage, but not necessary. Full training will be given as required.

This post is offered on a fixed-term contract basis for nine months, funded by the Medical and Life Sciences Translational Fund.
