Summary of Job:


  • Responsible for all cleaning within the office building
  • To create and maintain a clean, tidy working environment
  • To be flexible in your approach, carrying out certain duties on an 'as required' basis

Staff relationship:


  • Directly responsible to the Works Manager
  • Liaises with all internal departments

Duties and responsibilities:


  • Shall be fully committed to the achievement of the company policies and objectives with attention to quality and safety
  • Carry out weekly shop for necessities such as coffee, tea bags, sugar, milk, washing up liquid, dish cloths, sponges, disinfectant spray, etc
  • Clean all offices (dusting, polishing, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, sanitising work stations and equipment, etc.), kitchens, toilets and showers daily
  • Maintain stock of consumables such as hand wash, toilet rolls, air fresheners, etc. in all toilet facilities and dishwasher tablets, rinse aid and salt for the dishwashers in the kitchens
  • Be responsible for unloading and loading dishwashers daily
  • Check communal cupboards and fridges on a regular basis for food that's reached its expiry date and dispose of accordingly
  • Dust window ledges and clean internal windows
  • Keep storage areas clean and tidy
  • Be responsible for the laundry area; washing and drying (outside during summer months) staff overalls and tea towels, folding and putting away accordingly
  • Provide light refreshments (tea/coffee/biscuits) for regular meetings
  • Provide catering on a larger scale but less regular basis (purchasing and preparing sandwiches, crisps, fruit, drinks, etc.) for working lunches, Board Meetings and other such occasions, as required
  • Carry out filing, shredding of confidential waste and photocopying tasks, in line with the demands of the business
  • Undertake reasonable instructions and tasks from senior personnel, commensurate with the nature of the job and in the best interests of the company

Hours of work
28 hours per week.

Monday to Thursday 12.00 pm to 6.00 pm with 1 x 10-minute break and Friday 10.00 am to 2.00 pm with no break.

You must be flexible and able to work extra hours to cover sickness and holidays, when necessary.

We have a manufacturing plant in Worcestershire (UK) including a pipework/vessel fabrication division and wholly own a competitive manufacturing plant based in Goa, India, which provides fully machined and tested cast products sourced from high quality ISO approved foundries.

Barton Firtop India is well established having supplied world-wide projects via the UK head office over the last 20 years.
