An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join a highly reputable main construction contractor in Gloucestershire.


The Role:


  • Checking purchase orders and GRN against invoices and inputting into purchase ledger
  • Assisting with monthend statement reconciliations and ensuring timely payment to suppliers
  • Raising sales invoices and inputting into sales ledger, monitoring of ledger for timely receipts
  • Petty cash processing and reconciliation
  • Timely expenses and payments to staff
  • Preparation of company credit card expenses, matching to receipts and ensuring transactions are posted to the correct contracts and nominal expense codes
  • Assist with other adhoc duties as required, i.e bank and other journal

Skills required:


  • Proficient in Maths and English or Business Studies
  • Proficient in the use of accounts software, desirable in the use of office 365. Must have an ability to learn, use and understand systems easily
  • Experience with scheduling and payroll
  • Ability to learn on the job and adapt easily to change
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Previous experience working in the construction industry desirable
  • Proactive and innovative to constantly improve the department and wider business
  • Good decision maker
  • Ability to delegate and develop others
  • Good team worker
