HCMUK are looking for a skilled and dedicated individual to join us as
Mobile Plant Fitter in the
Inverness area, who will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a variety of mobile plant equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and safety standards

Responsibilities:


  • Troubleshoot and fault find any defects on machines and carry out repairs as necessary.
  • Utilise diagnostic tools and equipment to pinpoint problems accurately.
  • Conducting maintenance and repairs at customer sites on various models of Hitachi machinery.
  • Identify and replace faulty parts, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications.
  • Carry out routine servicing to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of equipment.
  • Ensure that service reports, time sheets etc. are completed correctly and submitted on time.
  • Generate digital reports outlining equipment condition, repair history, and recommendations.
  • Reporting any warranty issues promptly.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Promote safe work practices and behaviours among team members.
  • Promote the use of PPE among team members.
  • Engage with customers to understand their maintenance requirements, concerns, and priorities.
  • Keep customers informed about status of maintenance activities and any delays or issues.
  • Ensure that work is carried out to the highest standard and on time.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, ensuring cleanliness, organisation, and safety.
  • Maintaining safety, cleanliness and general housekeeping of company vehicle.
  • Liaising with Service Controller's and Product Support Managers throughout the day to provide updates on repair progress and equipment status.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Essential_
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Experienced time served Mobile Field Service Engineer.
  • Excellent diagnostic and reporting skills and show good attention to detail.
  • Proven track record working on modern Hydraulic Excavators and Wheel loaders.
  • Experienced in troubleshooting modern hydraulic systems and diesel engines.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with the aptitude to think on your feet and resolve issues.
  • Excellent IT skills required with a good ability to analyse fault code data.
  • Preferred_
  • Previous experience working within an OEM dealership.
  • Experience working on large size mobile earthmoving equipment in a quarry environment.
  • Quarry and Safety passport holder.
  • IPAF card holder.
  • CSCS card holder.
