Customer Service Representative
(maternity cover 6/7 months)


Job Location:

Flexible/hybrid - initial 4 week training period in Hungerford, home based for remainder of contract or option to be based in office in Farnborough.


Salary:
£30k per annum FTE (Pro rata)


Hours:
Part time, Fixed Term, 30 hours per week (to be worked over 4 days, 08:30 - 17:00).


Full Job Description

  • As the Customer Service Representative will be the point of contact for current and potential customers. This position will be part of the European Customer Service team providing customers with answers to questions and queries about technical and niche product ranges.
  • You will be responsible for generating revenue through obtaining orders, understanding and interpreting technical requirements, providing access to technical information and developing accounts.
  • This position will work cooperatively with Field Sales, Account Management, and other members of the team to grow existing customers and create new customers while increasing customer satisfaction. _B. Please note this is not an outbound cold calling sales role. There may be outbound calls required for inbound leads and to prompt for new orders based on order history_

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process orders and inquiries from current and prospective customers.
  • Monitor the status of orders and initiate contact with customers to assure they are fully aware of any changes in the original delivery specifications.
  • Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, or credit terms.
  • Receiving, validating and following up on customer inquiries and provide customers and prospects with accurate information and terms of sale
  • Provide accurate quotes and pricing which will require competence and confidence in calculating proportions, ratios and percentages of material masses.
  • Accurately and effectively administer all aspects of order entry including invoices, certifications, acknowledgements, and paperwork for International for export of Products as applicable.
  • Provide "Professional Service Level" regarding all verbal and written communications with current and potential customers and vendors.
  • Work with customers using problem resolution and recovery tools when material must be returned and/or credits issued.
  • Proactively follow up on Customer inquiries in order to generate & accelerate New Business Opportunities as required.
  • Work closely with Field Sales & Account Management teams to review order history and proactively reach out to Customers for new orders as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience within a Customer Service role ideally in a "technical" environment.
  • An interest and understanding of chemistry are desirable.
  • Mathematical and logical mind good with intricate calculations.
  • Willingness to participate in continued education opportunities to enhance skills and proficiency.
  • Exemplary interpersonal skill in dealing with customers, fellow team members in the UK and across Europe.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel and Outlook.
  • Knowledge or experience of using SAP ERP, CRM, & Enterprise software tools desirable but training will be provided.
  • Keen to learn and familiarise yourself with a very niche product range.
