About the role

In this role, you will lead the Contract Management Office team who are responsible for the assurance/risk management of a number of large Defence contracts.

You will ensure these bespoke contracts meets BT contractual performance reporting obligations including risk, and quality.

You will drive the implementation of the relevant internal CGR related governance framework and associated processes for Major Contracts to follow, including training and warm hands support.

You will also input to any Contract Management specific Audit recommendations and resulting action plan response to Group Internal Audit.

You will also ensure contractual performance & assurance reporting is provided and is effective.

  • This role provides the CMO for the delivery team including significant delivery partners and functions specified are required to cover all delivery partners. This role will work closely with the delivery PMO to an agreed RACI.
What you'll do

  • Lead the Contract Management Office, providing endtoend support functions (change mgt, risk mgt, etc).
  • Development and leadership of a team of contract assurance specialists ensuring all internal and contractual reporting requirements are met for managed contracts.
  • Work effectively with other Service Line leadership to improve their shared support capability and strategically define their remit/scope in underpinning the wider contract management function.
  • Ensure that a holistic system is in place (at a contract and with delivery partners) to record and manage risks effectively.
  • Ensure any Quality standards that are contractually required are maintained and delivered.
  • Operational improvement including standardisation & simplification of Contract Management functions/processes.
  • Implementing appropriate document management systems for the effective operations of the contracts e.g SharePoint.
  • Provide the purchase order capabilities required for delivery of this contract.
  • Set contractual standards for delivery reporting and ensure suitable tools are in place to deliver reporting.

  • Strong track record of delivering operational transformation.
  • Proven ability to work with geographicallydispersed and virtual teams.
  • Ability to interface with other BT teams such as BT Legal, Group Risk, Finance, HR, etc.
  • Ability to work collaboratively (but ensuring adherence to contractual obligations) with significant delivery partners.
