Within NHS Tayside we are expanding opportunities for Health Care Support Workers to develop.


As a Healthcare Support Worker you will be working at the heart of our multidisciplinary teams delivering high quality, patient-centred care.

You will be supervised and report to an Assistant Practitioner or Registered Nurse.

This will require you to be able to communicate effectively with a broad range of individuals, both verbally and in writing, to share our commitment to maintaining high standards in everything we do, and to demonstrate that you can work effectively within a team that behaves in accordance with our vision and values.


We are seeking to recruit people who are committed to delivering outstanding patient care, taking pride in what they do with a desire to learn and develop.

A professional manner and excellent communication skills are essential. You must work well in a high pressure environment and have the ability to adapt to challenging situations.


The post will be based in Ward 6 (Medicine for the Elderly), Acute Medicine for the Elderly (AME) and AMU Frailty Assessment.

These areas provide inpatient care which is patient-centred and aims to maximise each patient's potential for recovery which is supported by an excellent Multi Disciplinary Team.


Medicine for the Elderly has a variety of wards, of which each one delivers a specific service to our older people.


Ward 6 is a 26 bedded unit that supports a longer patient journey, while AME is a 24 bedded unit that supports a patient journey of hrs.

The AFU is 6 bedded new and exciting addition to our older people pathway.

Working hours
:37.5 hours per week full time or part time also available. You will be expected to work a variety of rotational day and night shifts, including weekends.
