About the Role:


We are seeking a highly motivated and adaptable individual to join our growing team as a Multi-Skilled Field Service Engineer.

In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our client's buildings.

You'll be responsible for undertaking a variety of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks for building services, while also possessing the ability to address fabric maintenance needs.

FCCM Services head office is in Halesowen and this branch covers all of West Midlands. FCCM Services also has a secondary office in Warrington


Key Responsibilities:


  • Conduct routine fire alarm testing in accordance with BS standards, including initiating controlled activations, verifying operation, and resetting the system.
  • Perform water temperature tests to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, particularly for Legionella control.
  • Carry out flushing of domestic hot and cold water systems to maintain water quality and prevent stagnation.
  • Conduct regular inspections and functionality checks of emergency lighting systems.
  • Identify and address minor building fabric issues, such as door repairs, plastering, or sealant replacements.
  • Report any identified faults or defects in building services or fabric in a timely manner and follow up on repairs to ensure completion.
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate PPM documentation.

Skills and Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 23 years of experience in a similar field service engineer role.
  • Working knowledge of fire alarm systems, water systems, emergency lighting, and common building fabric components.
  • Experience with PPM procedures and documentation for building services is essential.
  • A Unique Taxpayer Reference number (UTR) is required
  • A strong understanding of health and safety regulations, particularly BS for fire alarms and Legionella control.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to highquality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to prioritize and manage a varied workload.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • A valid driving license and a clean car driving record are essential.
