A leading engineering and manufacturing company are now looking for a Health and Safety Manager to join their team.

The Health and Safety Manager will lead and coordinate site Environmental, Health and Safety activity across all functions whilst managing and maintaining their HSE processes and standards.

You will also provide HSE Management support and guidance to siteand periodically as well as to a cohort of remote workers.

Health and Safety Manager - Main Responsibilities:

Leading EHS on site and developing best in class safety culture and environmental awareness.
Managing, maintaining, and developing HSE procedures and standards, ensuring that UK/EU EHS regulatory requirements are met.
Providing EHS guidance and support to the office and to a cohort of remote workers.
As a member of the company's global EHS community, you will conduct a minimum of one EHS audit each year at a site within your region.
Implementing EHS Development path objectives and initiatives.
Developing a mindset of safety prevention within the local business by promoting near miss and hazard identification.
Producing safety and environmental KPI's and presenting local performance internally and to the wider business.
Working with multiple groups towards meeting sustainability targets.
Using the Intelex EHS Management software platform effectively for a range of EHS tasks including risk assessment, hazard reporting, accident investigation, assessments & audits, KPI recording, and management of the site's legal register.
Providing training, coaching and guidance as required to our colleagues.
Active partner in NPI process (New Product Introduction). Acting in an advisory capacity to establish safe working practices from day one.
Working with other EHS Managers across the Heraeus world to advance both the site and the wider company's EHS performance.

Person Requirements

Hold a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety
Member of IOSH
Experienced in COSHH, REACH, DSEAR or PUWER Regs
Ideally hold an Environmental Management Qualification such as IEMA or NEBOSH (Not essential)
