This is a fantastic opportunity to join the safeguarding team in our brand-new state of the art premises in Hessle

St.

Anne's School, Sixth Form College and Residence is an Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' local authority maintained Special School of approximately 170 students aged 2-19, serving the needs of families in a wide area of the East Riding of Yorkshire and beyond.

All our students have either complex medical needs, profound and multiple learning difficulties or autism spectrum conditions. Our dedicated and talented staff are exceptional in managing their needs and developing their potential.

Students are day-attendees and there is a Local Authority residential unit attached to the school, providing regular respite care for some of our students and which is an integral part of the school's organisation.

Our new Safeguarding Officer will provide leadership and management for the delivery and implementation of robust safeguarding procedures across the School, Sixth form and Residence for all pupils and staff.

You'll work with internal stakeholders, and outside agencies to ensure that all relevant policies and procedures are adhered to, improved upon and that positive safeguarding outcomes are implemented for the benefit of students families and carers and staff.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A passion for, and knowledge of SEND in education and social care setting
  • A good standard of education including passes in English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent)
  • A Level 3 designated safeguarding lead training qualification
  • Significant experience of working with children and families in a safeguarding and child protection environment as well as experience of working with multi agency professionals
  • A practical knowledge of the referral process and demonstrated delivery of positive safeguarding outcomes
  • A genuine ability to engage with and influence all stakeholders
  • A commitment to drive continuous improvement in safeguarding, including staff training and policy and process review and development
